On the 10 April 1972,on way back after attending a Convention on Homoeopathic Science at Suri,Birbhum,a few enthusiastic Homoeopathic and Social workers of Sainthia decided to form an Organisation. The first and foremost object of which is to establish an ideal Homoeopathic Institution to teach the educated youths and to propagate the Laws of Homoeopathic Science at a low cost and within a month,the Organisation came into existence viz.The Birbhum Homoeopaths’ Association by name with a zeal and utmost devotion by a couple of lovers of the Science. To fulfil its object, while they were in search of land, and at its eventual moment Late Pradyut Kumar Ghosal, the Land-Lord, came forward and donated 0.67 acres of land unconditionally at sanitary site on the bank of the river “Mayuraskhi”. More acres of land is essentially required to build a Medical College & Hospital, the patrons then made an ardent and ferevnt appeal to Mr. Manish Gupta, the then District Magistrate, Birbhum. It is rather a blessing to us that under the direct participation and prompt intervention of the then Addl. D.M., Mr. Goswami kindly extended his gracious hands and offered 2.67 acres of land to the Association, adjacent to the first plot with the opinion for establishing a Homoeopathic Medical College. We offer our heart-felt thanks and deep gratitude to the Land Donors and Mr. Manish Gupta, the then District Magistrate, Sri N.P. Ghosh,Ex-MLA, all the MLA’s of Birbhum, the generous people of Sainthia and others who sincerely dedicated their accomplishment however small it may be and came forward to help us with moral support to serve the purpose as well.
