On April 10, 1972, on the way back after attending a convention on homeopathic science in Suri, Birbhum, a few enthusiastic homeopathic and social workers from Sainthia decided to form an organization. The first and foremost object is to establish an ideal homeopathic institution to teach educated youths and propagate the laws of homeopathic science at a low cost. Within a month, the organization, viz., the Birbhum Homoeopaths' Association, was named with zeal and utmost devotion by a couple of lovers of science. To fulfill its object, while they were in search of land, at its eventual moment, Late Pradyut Kumar Ghosal, the Land Lord, came forward and donated 0.67 acres of land unconditionally at the sanitary site on the bank of the river "Mayuraskhi." More acres of land are essentially required to build a medical college and hospital. The patrons then made an ardent and fervent appeal to Mr. Manish Gupta, the then District Magistrate, Birbhum.
It is rather a blessing to us that, under the direct participation and prompt intervention of the then Addl. D.M., Mr. Goswami kindly extended his gracious hands and offered 2.67 acres of land to the association, adjacent to the first plot, with the opinion of establishing a homeopathic medical college. We offer our heartfelt thanks and deep gratitude to the Land Donors and Mr. Manish Gupta, the then District Magistrate, Sri N.P. Ghosh, Ex-MLA, all the MLAs of Birbhum, the generous people of Sainthia, and others who sincerely dedicated their accomplishments, however small they may be came forward to help us with moral support to serve the purpose as well.
